When is the 2027 Hakone Ekiden?

The outbound leg is on Saturday, January 2, 2027 and the return leg on Sunday, January 3. The outbound leg starts at 8:00 AM in Otemachi (in front of the Yomiuri Shimbun building) and runs to Lake Ashi in Hakone; the return leg starts at 8:00 AM at Lake Ashi and finishes in Otemachi.

Are there road closures?

The 2027 closures have not been announced yet. In past years, roads in Tokyo were closed around Daiichi Keihin (Route 15) and Hibiya-dori. Closing times and crossing points by section will be added to this map once announced.
