FAQ

When are the roads closed?

On Sunday, November 8, 2026, from about 8:05 to 10:25 AM (planned). Times differ by section: Tamagawa-dori 8:05–9:10, Tamazutsumi-dori (Tamagawa 3-chome junction to the Futako-Tamagawa Park tunnel) 8:15–9:10, Yoshizawa Bridge to the Komae city line 8:40–9:30, Tamazutsumi-dori (tunnel to Tamazutsumi Elementary School) 8:15–10:05, Meguro-dori 9:00–10:25 and Komahachi-dori 9:10–10:25 AM. They may be extended or shortened.

Can I drive on Tamagawa-dori (Route 246)?

It is not fully closed. From about 8:05 to 9:10 AM the curb lane (two lanes in places) of the outbound side toward Futako-Tamagawa is used for the course; cars can still drive, but no left turns during the restriction. At Seta, from about 8:05 to 9:05 AM, you cannot turn from Kanpachi-dori onto Tamagawa-dori toward Futako-Tamagawa. Meguro-dori between Todoroki-fudo-mae and Sanno College also has one inbound lane closed.

Can I cross the course on foot or by bicycle?

During the restrictions pedestrians and cyclists cannot cross the course, so use footbridges and the like. On Tamagawa-dori, footbridges are for pedestrians only; cyclists cross at the Komazawa-daigaku Station or Seta intersections. Around Futako-Tamagawa Station (8:15–10:05 AM) the footbridge and the station-front crossing bridge are pedestrians only, while the Tamagawa Takashimaya S.C. parking connector bridge takes pedestrians and bicycles. Cross Komahachi-dori at the Komazawa Park intersection and Meguro-dori via Todoroki-dori under Todoroki Overpass or a footbridge; at the Sanno College intersection staff will guide you across. For Hyogojima Park, cross Hyogo Bridge as directed by staff around 9:00–10:00 AM (walk your bicycle). At peak times crossings can take a while.

Can I drive to Futako-Tamagawa or Todoroki?

To reach the large shopping centers in Futako-Tamagawa from Kawasaki, the organizers advise taking Route 246 inbound, turning right at Seta, and going south from Kanpachi-dori via Komazawa-dori. Near the Todoroki-fudo-mae intersection during the restriction, you cannot enter Meguro-dori from Kanpachi-dori or Tamazutsumi-dori from Meguro-dori; from Meguro-dori to Kanpachi-dori only left turns are allowed. Komahachi-dori has no driving or parking from about 9:10 to 10:25 AM, and the Kirin-san parking lot of Komazawa Olympic Park cannot be entered from outbound Komazawa-dori.

Where are the start and turnaround?

The race starts at 8:30 AM and finishes at the athletics stadium in Komazawa Olympic Park. It runs down Tamagawa-dori to Futako-Tamagawa, then via Tamazutsumi-dori, Yoshizawa Bridge and Kinuta-honmura to the turnaround at the Komae city line on the Tamagawa cycling road, and comes back along the riverbank, over Hyogo Bridge and through Futako-Tamagawa Park, then via Tamazutsumi-dori, Meguro-dori and Komahachi-dori. The time limit is 130 minutes with 5 cut-off points.

Who do I contact?

Setagaya Call (03-5432-3333, 8:00 AM–9:00 PM, every day). On the day, follow police and staff directions for closures and detours.
