When is it in 2026?

Ikebukuro Halloween Night is on Friday, October 30, 4:30–10:30 PM; the festival runs 10:00 AM–6:00 PM on Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1. It is the first time in five years that it falls on Halloween itself.

What is Ikebukuro Halloween Night?

An evening program held only at Sunshine City on October 30. It is for ages 18 and over; high school students cannot enter. Photography is 5:00–9:30 PM at the outdoor Sunshine Plaza, indoor areas and B3 parking, and the stage runs 7:40–9:20 PM. You cannot go out into the streets in costume.

Where can I take photos?

On Oct 31 and Nov 1 the four photo areas are Naka-Ikebukuro Park, Higashi-Ikebukuro Chuo Park, Sunshine Plaza and IKE-SUNPARK, until 5:00 PM. Tripods and light stands are allowed (one stand and one light per person or group; umbrellas and softboxes up to 100 cm). No equipment in the IKE-SUNPARK playground or indoors in Exhibition Halls B and C, and no photos inside the Alpa and Alta shops.

Where are registration and the changing rooms?

Registration is at Sunshine Plaza, just south of Higashi-Ikebukuro Chuo Park. The changing rooms are in the Sunshine City exhibition halls: women in Hall A (4F) and Hall D (2F), men in Hall C (3F). Premium ticket holders can use them from 8:45 AM and general from 11:00 AM; you must finish changing back by 6:00 PM.

Where can I walk in costume?

Inside the event area from Ikebukuro Station East Exit to Sunshine City and IKE-SUNPARK (the pink line on the official pamphlet map). Even there, other pedestrians have priority and photos or socializing that block the way are not allowed. Higashi-Ikebukuro Park and Minami-Ikebukuro Park are off-limits.

    Held only at Sunshine City (ages 18 and over; high school students cannot enter). Photography 5:00–9:30 PM at the outdoor Sunshine Plaza, indoor areas and B3 parking. Stage 7:40–9:20 PM (karaoke contest, cosplayer photo session, arm wrestling). You cannot go out into the streets in costume.

    Registration is at Sunshine Plaza; changing rooms are in the Sunshine City exhibition halls (general use from 11:00 AM). You can walk around the event area in costume, but other pedestrians have priority. Higashi-Ikebukuro Park and Minami-Ikebukuro Park are off-limits.

  2. 11:00〜16:30 Main stage

    At Naka-Ikebukuro Park. Oct 31: special ceremony (1:20 PM), Cosplayer Of The Year 2026 (3:00 PM) and more. Nov 1: Halloween for parents and kids (12:20 PM), Delta Force special stage (1:25 PM), COSPLAY MODE stage (3:30 PM) and more. Prize draws and Niconico cosplay showcases on both days.

  3. 17:00〜 Photos end, change back

    Photography ends at 5:00 PM and the festival at 6:00 PM. If you use a changing room, come back in time to finish changing by 6:00 PM.

Ikebukuro Halloween Cosplay Festival: Highlights, Road Closures & Toilets

Areas and positions are approximate, based on the official venue and traffic maps. On the day, follow on-site signs and restrictions.

Event Area

  • Naka-Ikebukuro Park中池袋公園

    Main stage (11:00 AM–4:30 PM), cosplay gathering, and special areas for NTE and DELTA FORCE. A photo area where tripods and light stands are allowed (photography until 5:00 PM).

  • Higashi-Ikebukuro Chuo Park東池袋中央公園

    Photo area (stands allowed) with the Ikebukuro Halloween Food stalls (10:00 AM–5:00 PM). Sunshine Plaza, just south of the park, is also a photo area and has the registration desk. The corner by Otome Road gets crowded, so do not stop there.

  • IKE-SUNPARKIKE・SUNPARK

    Photo area (stands allowed, but no equipment in the playground). Cosplay Dock, a pro photo area by Canon, life-size fantasy weapons, a Halloween stamp rally and more. The south side (toward the health center) is expected to be crowded.

The official map is a diagram, so the line follows the nearest streets, and the north and southwest ends, cut off by the map frame, are estimated.
