Shibuya Halloween Map 2026

There is no official event. Shibuya City asks people not to come to Shibuya for Halloween. With the 31st falling on a Saturday this year, patrols and other measures run for two days, Friday October 30 and Saturday October 31. This map sums up the restrictions for people passing through Shibuya for work or shopping.

Drinking on streets, parks, plazas and other public spaces inside the red dotted line is banned every day from 6:00 PM to 5:00 AM (year-round since October 2024, not just at Halloween).

From 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM on the 30th and 31st, about 10 watchtowers, including one in front of Hachiko Square, and about 185 guards (about 60 on the 30th and 125 on the 31st) plus about 70 ward staff will patrol. From 6:00 PM on the 31st to 5:00 AM, 62 convenience stores, department stores and other shops around the zone are asked not to sell alcohol.

On October 30 and 31, the road between Shibuya Ekimae and Miyamasuzaka-shita is closed to vehicles from about 4:00 PM until the end of the operation (the red line on the map). From the evening of the 30th to early morning on November 1, police may also set up checkpoints or close roads around Center Gai, Dogenzaka and Inokashira-dori, west of Meiji-dori and north of Tamagawa-dori. Parking meters around the station are out of use all day (Shibuya Police Station). Station entrances may also change depending on crowds.

The smoking areas in front of Shibuya Station and at the foot of Miyamasu-zaka close from early morning on the 30th to early morning on November 1. 26 LUUP and Lime ports around Shibuya Station cannot be chosen for rental or return from 5:00 PM on the 30th to 5:00 AM on the 31st. Lime also closes its ports from 5:00 PM on the 31st to 5:00 AM, and from the evening of the 30th to early morning on November 1 its scooters cannot be ridden around Center Gai, between Inokashira-dori and Bunkamura-dori (Lime announcement of October 22).

No temporary toilets or changing areas will be set up.

Temporary garbage stations are set up in front of the Udagawacho police box (30th and 31st), and in front of Hachiko Square and the Grand Tokyo Shibuya building (31st). Littering in Shibuya is now subject to a fine.
